The Country Fair
Cinnamon Roll family turns 30! This is a very special year for our
family owned and operated business. We have a lot to celebrate and look
forward to. It was 1978 when the founders of Country Fair Cinnamon
Rolls, Janis and Eldon Dale made their debut at the San Diego County
Fair (known then as the Del Mar Fair). They had no idea the loyal fan
following that was to come over the next few decades. They created a
mouth watering fresh from the oven treat that soon became a fair
favorite and to this day ranks as one of the most popular foods. The
long lines and crowds is an indication of just how popular these gooey
sweet treats are. Watching the rolls made before your eyes is part of
the attraction of this family owned and operated business. It's
mesmerizing to watch the layers of cinnamon and sugar being spread on
the dough and then chopped up with total precision, placed in the pans
and then off to the oven. It's part science, part art. After many
successful years of traveling and enjoying life on the road the Dale's
decided to hand the reigns over to there daughters to continue on the
next generation of professional cinnamon rollers. Each daughter and
family follows a specific route of fairs and special events. It's a
unique lifestyle that involves a lot of traveling and a lot of hard
work but the reward is very "sweet". The daughters have their own
families involved just as much as they were growing up. It's a true
American success story for the small mom and pop owned business.
Today's moms and pops just happen to be in there thirty's providing
employment opportunities, business revenue, and not to mention a
delightfully sweet and wonderful hand made product to every town and
city they meet. The families of Country Fair Cinnamon Rolls will
continue on the tradition of excellent service, professionalism, and of
course the wonderful hot and fresh cinnamon rolls that fairs throughout
California and the US have loved for the past thirty years.
